What shared inbox software does not show you

Shared inbox tools route the work. They rarely tell you how well it is going.
A shared inbox gives your team one address and a way to divide the replies. It does not record how long customers waited, which agent carried the volume, or how many threads went unanswered, so most teams discover a problem when a customer complains rather than when the numbers move. Email Meter turns that same mailbox into reporting, measured on real traffic.

Works with the mailboxes you already have

Email Meter works with Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook and Microsoft 365, including shared and delegated mailboxes. You do not replace anything: your team keeps replying where they reply today, and the reporting is built from the mailboxes you already run. Any tool that exposes an API can be connected, so the rest of your support stack sits next to your email numbers.

What you can measure

Response times

First response and median response time, per mailbox, per agent and per period, so you can see whether Monday mornings or holiday cover are where the delay actually builds.

Workload

Who is handling what, how the volume is split across the team, and where one person is absorbing a queue that was supposed to be shared.

Volume and coverage

Emails received and sent, busiest hours, and internal versus external traffic, so you can tell a genuine spike from a team talking to itself.

SLA management, against your real business hours

An email that arrives at 6pm should not be scored as a fourteen hour delay. Set your working hours and targets are measured against the time your team was actually open. SLA management is part of the Custom Dashboard plan.

Frequently asked questions

Is Email Meter a shared inbox tool?
No. Email Meter is the analytics layer that sits on top of the mailboxes you already use. You keep Gmail or Microsoft 365, and Email Meter reports on what happens inside them.
Does it work with both Gmail and Outlook?
Yes. Email Meter works with any version of Gmail and Google Workspace, and with Outlook and Microsoft 365.
How is it rolled out across a team?
On the Custom Dashboard plan, Email Meter is deployed at domain level, so you do not need every person to install it themselves. Delegated mailboxes are covered, along with granular permissions, SAML single sign-on and a personalised onboarding.
Can Email Meter connect to the other tools we use?
Yes. Alongside Gmail and Microsoft 365, the Custom Dashboard plan supports integrations with other tools and omnichannel reporting: any tool that exposes an API can be connected, so the rest of your support stack is reported next to your email numbers.
Do we have to change how our team works?
No. Your team keeps replying exactly where they reply today. Email Meter reports on the mailboxes you already run rather than asking anyone to move their work into a new tool.
What can we actually measure?
First response time, average and quickest response times, response time trends, emails sent and received, workload across the team, internal versus external traffic, and response times measured against your business hours rather than the clock.
